Summary

1950s BHS Infield Reunited in 2004: 3rd baseman Uncie Lovelace (1949-53), Shortstop Slick Summers (1949-52), 2nd baseman Pickle Manuel (1950-54), 1st baseman Bill Huffman (1949-53), Catcher Bob Chaney (1951-52) and 2nd baseman Bill Cornelius (1950)

"At the 1950s reunion on 9/10/04, the BHS infield from the early '50s was reunited for the first time since graduation. Except for Bill Cornelius, this group of guys grew up playing pickup baseball in and around Brunswick for several years before coming together on the high school team. While in school, these men played together on the Brunswick Youth team, then on the first American Legion team in Brunswick. They also represented Brunswick in the Maryland State League. Uncie Lovelace went on to play in the New York Giants farm system for a couple of years.

This team got better as the reunion night went on. They committed no errors and there wasn't a pitch they couldn't hit--at least for this evening---Brunswick Citizen, September 23, 2004
