Summary

Madeleine Butler (left) and Clarice Henderson pose next to portraits of Mrs. Butler's father- and mother-in-law George and Achier Butler. The pump organ on which the portraits are placed in the Butler home in Coatsville is a family heirloom. Mrs. Butler, who is originally from France, has chronicled the history of the Butler and Holland families, who operated a farm in Coatsville on the lower flank of South Mountain and the surrounding area.

George Butler was the first black stationary fireman on the B&O Railroad in Brunswick.
