Summary

Mrs. Mary Foster Cage (right), Mrs. Mary Rockwell and her husband at a Class of 1936 reunion that Mrs. Cage helped organize even after the Cages moved to Florida. This one was held at Dutch's Daughter in Frederick and we think it the class's 60th in 1996.

Mrs. Cage was a respected teacher at BHS from the 1940s until she transfered to teach remedial reading at Glenwood Middle School after former BHS principal Dr. Jack Kussmahl convinced her to join him there for the 1967-68 school year.

Doug Heffner: I was required to take a summer school class for reading taught by Mrs Cage. Was very angry as I was an avid reader and thought I was being sent by another teacher who disliked me! I explained that to Mrs Cage. That fall when I entered the 10th grade I was reading 12th grade level.Am grateful to this day .Probably my favorite teacher.
