Summary

Dr. Wade B. Watson in front of Watson's Cut Rate at 44 W. Potomac Street.

In addition to his dental practice, which he operated out of his home on W. Potomac Street, Dr. Watson and his son Harwood ran the store from when they bought out Coffman's Cut Rate in 1939 until the business was sold to Bob Moler in 1962. Harwood Watson worked for Coffman's in what might have been an apprentiship?

The Cut Rate sold patent medicines and featured a popular soda fountain and grill that the Watsons opened in 1941.

Doug Heffner: Mr. WATSON used to let almost all the kids wander thru his barn and out buildings. We would fiddle with his stuff but always put it back where we found it.We never stole a thing and he never said a word.Becky Woods was crazy about horses and she would go over every day. There are a lot of stories I could tell but some other time Very Very nice people!

Mary Jane Watson: Oh what fun memories. .many a horse rode, pond skating, a bonfire or two..fishing with a stick pole..I was so blessed as a kid to grow up in the big brown house...xxx
