Summary

Here is a promotional photo of the Jones & Robinson staff on E. Potomac Street across from the old YMCA. The building is still standing. We think the photo is from the late 1890s.

Howard M. Jones appears to be the well-dressed young man seated on the 1st step on the right. Maybe that's Mr. Robinson standing proudly on the top step?

Here's the story on the business and Mr. Jones:

Howard Marvin Jones came to Brunswick in 1896 and established a dry goods store in partnership with Austin Robinson, eventually expanding his business to Charles Town, Winchester, and Frederick. In 1908, Jones was appointed Magistrate by Governor Crothers. He was a director of the Peoples National Bank and member of several fraternal organizations in Brunsiwck including the Masons, Red Men, Eagles, and Knights of Pythias.
