Summary

Mrs. Merle Frank in front of her ranch-style home "Woodland" in Lovettsville on Riddlemoser Lane in the late 1960s. She and her husband Joseph M. Frank restored and enlarged the property into a home that was based on the stone section to the left, which was originally the 19th Century George's Mill schoolhouse that was built from logs. The old wooden structure was replaced by the stone building known as the Woodland School.

Mrs. Frank provided the following information about this home:

"Land for the Woodland School was donated by Samuel and Eliza George in 1882. School was in use until 1922. Sold at public auction in 1937. We bought it from Miss Margaret Baskerville in 1939. Restored and enlarged in 1944."
