Summary

An early Brunswick family tintype from the early 1900s. According to the family, the man on the lower right is a young Pete Dixon. The man sitting on the stool to the left is believed to be Lloyd Roelke, followed by Katie Eagle Roelke, unknown woman in the center, and Katie's sister Margaret Eagle Dixon on the far right.

Roelke and Dixon partnered in the grocery business in the 1930s and '40s in the storefront next to Mills' Confectionary across from the old fire hall after Pete was furloughed on the railroad. The partnership ended in 1943. Mr. Roelke later bought out the Orrison store next to the old Reformed Church.

The Dixon sisters lived in apartments in the old store building for years after Lloyd's son Bill took over the business and moved to 24 W. Potomac Street around 1958.
