This 1961 photo is believed to have been when a group of Brunswick railroaders headed to Washington, DC to make a statement about the 1961 'Piggy back' bill that was meant to address concerns and issues regulating the 'Piggy backing' of truck trailers on rail cars.
It was also known as the 'Hoffa bill', named for James Riddle (Jimmy) Hoffa of Teamsters fame..
In the photo are (not in order): Mayor Jim Cummings, Lertie Powers, Paul Weitzel, George Hoopengardner, Bill Roelkey, Jack Wheeler, Tom Maloney, Owen Pearrell, Paul Keller and Doc Forney near the old Eastbound Station.
