Frederick Police Officer of the Month Has Brunswick Connections Brunswick Mayor Karin Tome was present at the breakfast meeting of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek in Frederick, as the service club honored Frederick Police Officer First Class Tony Lawson as Frederick Police Officer of the Month for February and March of 2016. Officer Lawson served as Brunswick High School Resource Officer for several years, assistant football coach for fifteen years, and is currently Head Boys' Track Coach. Officer Lawson is the owner of the downtown Brunswick business - Foot Work Shoes. Quarterly the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek pays tribute to law enforcement professionals. Officer First Class Lawson was recognized for his actions in two incidents: In early February, at about 2:00 AM, officers responded to the parking lot at the Habitat for Humanity store on North Market Street in Frederick. Upon arrival OFC Lawson noticed a group of people huddled around a man who had been stabbed. Lawson observed another group of three walking away. When Lawson ordered the three to stop, one suspect attempted to flee. The suspect was apprehended by Lawson a block from the scene. In the second incident in March, Officer Lawson was integral in the apprehension of two individuals who had stolen a double-axle trailer loaded with ten thousand dollars of work tools. Officer Lawson has been a Frederick City Police Officer for 4.5 years, having served for 18 years with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office
