Summary

Veteran's Memorial Park - East A Street

History of the tank: originally there was a WWI cannon sitting where the tank now sits. During WWII Brunswick was asked to donate the cannon for scrap metal which was needed for the war and was promised they would replace after the war was won. On August 31, 1946 the M-5 Jeb Stuart tank was delivered to Brunswick. The tank was made with 2 cadillac engines for speed and held 4 people.

Bobby George commented,"My uncle, Charlie Brown, told me years ago that when it was first brought to town, the batteries were still charged and people would get into the turret and spin it around.
