Here is another classic example of Victorian architecture in Brunswick; the large apartment building at 109 East Potomac Street. It is still standing and has recently been renovated. Today, it is exclusively a residential property.
This photograph, taken in 1896, shows the two storefronts on the bottom floor that have been occupied by numerous businesses over the years. How many can you name?

See the horse drawn cart and the period dress of the people standing in front of the house. A Street is visible up the hill.

Among the businesses that operated here in the left storefront, I think, were Mulkey's Maytag Repair shop way back when, Harrington's Shoe Repair after the fire drove them out of the W. Potomac Street location, and in the late '70s, The Corner Pocket pool room. On the right, we believe Jones & Robinson Dry Goods store was there...Peter .
