This photo is from 1997-98 and shows the players and coach of the Varsity Boys Basketball Team.

The Rail Roaders won the MVAL and ended their regular season with a 17-3 record. Then the team won the 1A South region and advanced to the state semi-finals at Cole Field House, unfortunately there the train was halted down in College Park.

Since Middletown High had been a long time rival of Brunswick, one of the major highlights of the regular season was beating it twice that year. Frank Clements hit a three-pointer during the second game with Middletown sending the game into overtime where Brunswick prevailed.

Overall, the Varsity Team ended the season with 22 wins and only four losses.

As Senior Harrington said summing up the season “It was a great season, it was memorable one, even though we didn’t win states.
