Ninth grade teams allowed players to have more court playing time and this experience helped to develop players not only for the JV but also for the Varsity squad.

From an athletic standpoint, many are also making the transition from playing (or practicing) 2 or 3 days per week to 5 or 6. This increase is a shock to their systems both physically and mentally.
