I was there with my mom the day the library opened and was the first person to take out a book. I don’t remember what it was.

I was there all the time. I remember the librarian tried to get me to read easier books. My mother told her what I was selecting was fine for me. Loved reading!
I went to the library just about every week. I would usually get a chapter book and a Beatrix Potter book. I used to shelve books there for Mrs. Hortman. (Right now I’m working as a librarian; little did I know then how much my work there would help me so many years later.)
