Bus drivers are an essential, but often unrecognized asset to any large school such as the Brunswick area. The district includes Brunswick, Jefferson, Point of Rocks, and Knoxville, as well as the many roads connecting these towns.

Many of the drivers picked up and drove students not only to the high school and middle school (at the time the high and middle schools occupied the same building) but also to the elementary schools in the morning and afternoon.

Also, several of these drivers ferried school athletes to afternoon competitions and games, as well as to night games. Occasionally they took students on field trips.

Thought this was a funny quote about being a school bus driver – “The person who gets into a cage full of lions impresses everyone except a school bus driver” ;=)!
