In addition to serving as the town dentist, Doc Watson owned the Cut Rate on the SE corner of W. Potomac and Maryland Ave where he sold patent medicines and operated a popular soda fountain and grill. The Cut Rate was famous for its cheeseburger patty melts.&lt;br /&gt;
