|description={{en|1=We are saddened to announce the passing of longtime Brunswick Oriole and Brunswick baseball legend Gary Carter. Gary was drafted by the Washington Senators in the 21st round of the 1967 MLB draft and played 7 seasons in the organization, making it as high as AAA. Carter coached American Legion ball in the late 70’s and was a player on the Markers sheet metal softball team. Gary volunteered as scorekeeper for the BHS baseball team under Roger Dawson in 2000 and continued that role into this past season. He was an assistant coach for the Brunswick Orioles from 2001-2019 and was part of the 2004 National Championship team. Gary was inducted into the NSPBA Hall of Fame in 2016.<br />
