			FUNERAL FRIDAY OF GEORGE H. HOGAN ---Well Known Brunswick Man Died After Short Illness of Pneumonia.

			The funeral of George H. Hogan, president of the People's National Bank, Brunswick, who died at the Frederick City Hospital, Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, of pneumonia, will take place from the Lutheran church, Brunswick, Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. He was 56 years of age and is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Bessie L. Magalis, and two sons and two daughters.

			Mr. Hogan was one of the best-known citizens of Brunswick. He was a son of Michael and Mary V. Hymes Hogan and, was born in 1870. After attending public schools in Brunswick he went to Baltimore at the age of 15 and began his career as a clerk in a grocery store. Later he was employed by the Adams Express Company. Soon afterward he returned to Brunswick Flour Mills. He remained eight years and learned the milling business. For a year he worked as a fireman on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and in 1897 became interested in the Crampton Milling Company and remained in charge of this business for 12 years.

			In 1907 he was one of the organizers of the People's National Bank and later became its president. In politics he was a Democrat but never aspired to public office. He was a member of Delaware Tribe of Red Men and was married in 1906. He was well-known in business circles and was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends. He was taken to the hospital Monday and he died the following day.

			George Hogan attended public school in Brunswick, worked as a fireman on the B&O, then joined B. P. Crampton Co., where he learned the milling trade. He became Secretary-Manager of the company and held the position until his death. In 1907 he helped organize the Peoples National Bank of Brunswick (now F&M) and served as director. He was a stockholder in the building and managing of Red Men’s Hall, helped organize the Brunswick Fire Company, and was active in other community affairs.
