{{Information
|description={{en|1=Harry Y. George signs a sales slip for a railroader in the family-run hardware store S.W. George & Co. at 302 W. Potomac Street, circa 1960. He was a moving force in the growth of Brunswick from the 1890s to the 1960s.

Mr. George was a farmer, property developer, independent businessman and banker. He lived vigorously until his death in 1962 at age 87, rising early to check on a farm he owned off Route 180 in Petersville and supervise farmhands for the day's work. By 7am, Mr. George was present in the family hardware and appliance store on Potomac Street, greeting customers with a smile. He later looked in on the People's National Bank down the street to stay in touch with the business, and as President of the bank, was known for never having missed a Board of Directors meeting.
