 Judge Gross was quite a character. I think this was around the time the Citizen had incorrectly announced that he was either dead or dying. There was an article on him the next week with a picture showing him very much alive and quoting Mark Twain with the words &amp;quot;Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.&amp;quot;  Always heard Willie Gross would recite poetry at the drop of a hat, including Rev Luther Martin&amp;#039;s poem &amp;quot;Going Back to Brunswick&amp;quot;. He once told me he was born on Easter Sunday 1902 and his mother thought he&amp;#039;d be a preacher &amp;quot;but he&amp;#039;d never heard the call.&amp;quot;.. ....Peter&lt;br /&gt;
