	The cloudy weather did not dampen the enthusiasm for the group gather between the railroad tracks and the tow path. At 9:00 AM Mayor Jeff Snoots fired the starter gun and they were off. From Hypatia Tarleton: Our son Preston was a great young man. He played Brunswick little league, babe Ruth high school baseball and he went to Shenandoah University and played baseball. He loved to fish and hang with his friends. On April 25, 2010 Preston was in an accident and spent 5 days in shock trauma. Preston passed away April 30 2010. His uncles, James and Don Tarleton started a scholarship in Preston’s name given to a Brunswick High School baseball player going to college that’s playing baseball in school. I started the 5 k 2011 and we have been doing it every first Saturday in June. We see the same people every year it’s like a small family gathering every year. We miss Preston very much and this day is bittersweet, like seeing everyone but then again it’s another year without Preston.
