Obituary for Richard Mark Weir
Richard Mark "Pete" Weir, MSgt retired - USAF, passed away peacefully in Sharpsburg on January 22, 2020, following a long battle with Huntington's Disease.

Born on April 15 1950, Pete was raised in Brunswick, and was the son of Betty Lou Cunningham Rohrback, Franklin E. Rohrback Sr. and Arnold W. Weir.

Pete enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968, proudly serving his country for 20 years. After retiring from USAF, he moved his family back home to Maryland where he worked for MontCo Housing Authority until retirement in 2011.

He loved fishing with his boys, showing his antique Willys and camping with family at Happy Hills in Hancock. Pete was a member of the Boonsboro American Legion, Clopper Michael Post 10 and the Brunswick Masonic Lodge, AF & AM 191. He also enjoyed weekly APA pool league with PBRs and fried chicken at Gege's Place.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie Fauver Weir; his son Richard Jr (Deidra); and daughter Tresa; 2 grandsons, Alex and Brandon; and great-granddaughter, Chaya. Pete is lovingly remembered by his sister, Vicki Pennington (Kenny); brother, Frankie Rohrback; and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, Pete was predeceased by a sister, Diane Eagle and infant brother, Franklin Rohrback Jr.

A celebration of life memorial service is being planned (date to be announced) at Clopper Michael Post 10 American Legion.

The Weir family sincerely thanks Hospice of Washington County for the care and comfort provided during Pete's last months.
