These photos are from 1980-81 and shows new teachers who started at Brunswick Middle and High Schools. If I’m not mistaken, the Middle School was called Junior High School and consisted of 7th and 8th grades.
At the time BMS and BHS occupied the same building. Jack Law taught World History and U.S. History; Michelle Thornton taught ninth grade Biology; Anne Zumbach taught General Math, Geometry, and Physical Education; Kevin Shellhamer taught both Junior and Senior High Band, Guitar I and II; Karen Kemp taught Horticulture and Vocational-Agriculture; Alan Lescalleet taught Seventh Grade Social Studies and was the new high school soccer coach; Laurie Whitley was the new French and Spanish teacher.
To my knowledge the only one of these still teaching is Anne Zumbach who remains at BHS.
I’m currently Facebook friends with Jack Law, Michelle Thornton, and Anne Zumbach so I get to keep up with what is going on in their lives.
I also still keep in touch with Alan Lescalleet who recently relocated to Florida with his wife. Alan and I both enjoy gambling and I taught him how to play craps and he taught me how to be a more skillful poker player.
