This was the first year that VICA existed as a club at Brunswick and it consisted of students from the Auto I & II classes. Similar to FFA (Future Farmers of America) members of VICA competed with other students at various competitions at the local, state, and national levels.
Competitions not only involved public speaking but also in the area of diagnostic and repair in which two students had to diagnose a defect in an automobile and then repair it in a given time period.
Eventually BHS became the only high school that still offered automotive classes on-site whereas students from all the other high school must attend the Career and Technology Center in Frederick if they are interested in automotive repair.
