Summary
We speak from the heart with love & appreciation for Miss Peggy Carter who passed away today. Miss Carter was a favorite teacher for generations of Brunswick Elementary School students from the time she started teaching at the old East End school in 1950 fresh out of teachers' college, until her retirement. She was a highly-skilled storyteller, who brought history and literature to life for her students.

Smoketown History (Brunswick, Md.) We Baby Boomers remember when Miss Carter looked like she did in the lower right photo at Antietem in the late '60s. Always dressed to the Nines!
Anne Beck-Maness: She was an amazing teacher! I’m honored to have been a student of hers and to know her!!
Darlene Luckett Curbow: One of my Very Favorite teachers!! My Dad died when I was in 4th grade and my grades had slipped. Ms. Carter had me back to above grade level before year end! Thank you Ms. Carter.
Sharon Weiser: I was lucky to have Miss Carter for 5th and 6th grade. My favorite teacher for sure. She not only taught the material with exuberance but she had a way of making each of us feel that we were special and her favorite. So grounding. So dedicated. Thank you Miss Carter for believing in us. Heaven gains a beautiful Angel.
