Summary
"Burkittsville Colored School", also known as the Molly Bruner School after one of its long-serving teachers, was located on Mountain Church Road. It served African American children who lived along South Mountain between Burkittsville and Locust Valley until 1937. When the school closed, its remaining students transferred to the Horsey School on Route 17 and Coatesville.
