Summary
Dr. Garrott was a Burkittsville physician, who tended to wounded and dying troops during the Battle of South Mountain in 1862. This painting has been donated to the South Mountain Heritage Society Museum in Burkittsville. The museum is located in the old Resurrection Reformed Church, built in 1829 as the “Union Church.”
