Rev. Leonard D. Carmack (1906-1997) was the beloved pastor of the First Baptist Church in Brunswick for 30 years (1941-1971). His brief bio when he was honored in 1977 as a Distinguished Citizen of Brunswick included the following information: "Rev. Carmack was instrumental in establishing the Brunswick library and served as board president several times. He was also an active member and officer of the Brunswick Rotary Club."
