Summary

Brunswick Distinguished Citizens of 2018. This ceremony at American Legion Post 96 was the first since 1993.

The honorees were: Front row - Joanne Runkles, educator and moving force behind the Brunswick Medical Center for which she served as President of the Board; Ruth Kline Staples, Brunswick's pioneering and last "Rosie the Rivetor" who worked hard jobs on the railroad during World War II; Estelle Belt, Master Docent of the Brunswick Heritage Museum, who was one of its first volunteers in 1975; Jacqueline Ebersole, former Commissioner & Burgess of Rosemont, longtime member of the Brunswick Ambulance Company and museum volunteer; Julie Maynard, then Publisher of the Brunswick Citizen representing her father, the original Citizen Publisher starting in 1974.

Back row: Jim Dixon, longtime volunteer and historian of the Brunswick Fire Company; Denny Moore, longtime volunteer of the Brunswick Fire Company; Clair Ebersole, Brunswick Ambulance Company volunteer and 4-time past President; Mayor Jeff Snoots (Emcee of the program), Floyd Goetz, for his contributions to the renovation of Park Heights Cemetery and Veterans Park on A Street; Leroy Strawsburg, owner of Brunswick Hardware and staunch supporter of youth sports.
