Summary

Anytime Fitness 721A West Potomac Street Owner: Jim Daly

Interview with Jim Daly owner of Anytime Fitness:

I was born in New York and moved to Maryland as a teen. I graduated from Seneca Valley High School in Germantown and later attended college in Maryland. What did you do after college? I was a 911 calltaker and dispatcher and later, a police officer in Montgomery County. I had a variety of assignments including patrol officer, Academy instructor, K-9 handler and K-9 unit supervisor (K-9 is the best job ever!). I retired as a Captain as the department's police spokesperson and director of Media Services and Public Information. How long have you had Anytime Fitness? I became involved with Anytime Fitness in 2015 when my brother and his wife opened the Anytime Fitness Whittier Lakefront in Frederick. I later learned that the owners of the Brunswick club wanted to sell and I bought this club and took over operations in March of 2018. What do you hope for the future of your business? The fitness industry continues to evolve. Anytime Fitness was once known as a convenience gym being one of the first to offer 24/7 access. We have become so much more than that now, as we see that most people benefit from coaching, training, and support. We are designing our programs to meet a variety of needs to support our members in their fitness journey. When are you moving to Lovettsville? We are so excited to be moving to a larger and more modern space. Later this year, we plan to be fully operational at 18 Town Square in Lovettsville. The Brunswick location will stay open until we open in our new location. Tell me something interesting about you or your company. Me: I like to travel and love to hunt down low air fares. When I find them, I have been known to grab some friends and fly somewhere we've never been just to explore. Kitty Hawk, NC is my favorite quick getaway. I also love classic cars and wish I had a bigger driveway! My company: I have great staff. Everyone that works at our club truly cares about our members and will assist them in any way possible. Our club is small enough so that we get to know you. My staff has a passion for fitness and works hard every day to ensure we provide a clean, safe, and welcoming atmosphere. When did you join GBACC? I joined in April 2018 as soon as I became the owner. GBACC is such a great resource for local businesses.
