Sigafoose siblings (L-R) Lena Sigafoose Troxell, Ed Sigafoose, Bessie Sigafoose Shelton on the steps of the Shelton home on N. Virginia Ave. in Brunswick.

John Edward (Ed) Sigafoose (1900-1981) was the youngest of 13 children by Ben and Laura (Williams) Sigafoose.

As a young adult, Ed went to Washington, DC to work for the federal government. Having rubbed shoulders in Georgetown and advancing his career, he befriended Richard Nixon and his family in President Nixon’s early career.

In post retirement, Ed Sigafoose lived in Hollywood and partied with the stars, including Robert Mitchum, who was a friend. Ed was a stylish dresser, a genious at crosswords, and was a fine storyteller.

Ed lived his final years in Brunswick with these sisters in the Shelton home on N. Virginia Ave.

Ray Danner Sr: I lived and grew up in the house across the street from the store from 1945 to 1966. Mr. Sigafoose was always good to us kids. Would give us candy even if we were short on change.
