Open house to honor Mrs. Mary Pauline Brooks by Frederick Co resident and Maryland U.S. Senator Charles McC (Mac) Mathias, as Brunswick's oldest citizen at 102 in 1971. Mrs. Brooks was the daughter of a slave. She was 106 when she died in 1976. (Credit Brunswick History Commission)

From Facebook: Liz Wilson: This is my great grandmother in this photo. I miss her. This is my mother's grandmother. I remember before she died I had bought a brand new Orange Camaro and she wouldn't get in it. She said that was a crazy looking car. LOL Bless her heart. The Smith farm is were she had her birthday parties from the time she was 100 until she died at 106. That's the plantation she grew up on as a child. She was born 1869 and died 1975. Feb 23, 2010
