James Cox Jr: Dr Kussmaul would come get us guys early every Saturday in his 1958 Ford and we would work on his sheep farm at Broad Run. 75 cents/hr. He kept a few of us off the street (Bill Kubat, Wayne Hawes, others). His Mom would cook us a big spagetti lunch and we would watch Soupy Sales on TV. Mucking sheep, painting barns, running fence, and driving his farm equipment all over the place. We helped shear sheep, and our skin was wonderful for many weeks afterward because of the pure lanolin. (not that we wanted any wonderful skin :-) of course, but it seemed to help with the girls). We would quit whenever we got tired, and then fish in his creek. Good memories of a good Man.
