Amber Dykes on Shady Lane in Petersville in the mid-1970s.
According to Amber's friend and neighbor Velva Cooper, the painted tire in the background was a yard decoration in the Lipscomb family backyard. James "Jelly" Lipscomb, who worked on the B&O Railroad for many years, brought the tires and tire rails from the Brunswick yard. Mr. Jelly was famous for marking and separating his yard from neighbors and also used them as flower pots. The local kids had fond memories of sitting on them.
Amber now lives in Las Vegas with her mother, Petra Dykes and stepfather Leonard "Buddy" Gilbert.
