Bertha Best Haller with baby daughter Rae in Myer Kaplon's "photo booth" at Kaplon's in Brunswick.
Everybody around town loved Bertha, who took a good run at operating "Bertha's Corner" in the Horine's building right after the longtime pharmacy closed in the early 1970s. She also worked at Hendrickson's department store in Frederick for several years in the 1970s.
Bertha was active in the community and married railroader Norman "Monk" Haller. They lived on Rosemont Drive with their two children, Rae and Jay.
