Smoketown History: Love the kitty, especially remembering the Cat's Paw logo on the store window. Wonder if it was the house cat at the shoe store?
Don Michael Streight: I stopped in to see Bill Harrington many of time, he always had time for a friendly chat and he was the first person to start my childhood business. I walked in the shop with my shoe shine kit. I’m going down to the Square and drum up some shoe shine business but I need to buy a can of wax. Bill said you are? Yep - here is a nickel back a discount for going into business. Thanks --------------------------with as friendly as he was to me that little discount made me feel like a million dollars.
