Doris Kelley Barker: Thanks so much for this great picture of my cousin, Alfred Anderson and young Bill Wenner. Alfred served four years in New Quinea (country) during the war in the tank corps. He felt the USA had forgotten where he was and he paid dearly for those four years. I was born in that house and lived there until I was 2. I spent lots of time at the Andersons (aunt and uncle) and played a lot of soft ball there in that lower lawn. It was wonderful. We played until dark and ate supper in between and then Mother and I would return home to Delaware Avenue (my dad worked 7 days/week for the RR, matinee shift, so he missed all the fun until a five-day week, thanks to a union. Thank you Ann for this picture, remember how lovely you always were too.

Kevin Wayne Barker: Alfred was such a great relative. He would give me history books. In his elder years, he would stop by our house when he would come up to take apples back home to NC.
