Brunswick Post Office when it was on Potomac Street across from the YMCA.

In 1832, the Barry Post Office was established in the town of Berlin. Both names were changed when the town of Brunswick incorporated in 1890. by 1958, when the U.S. Postal Service constructed a modern new facility in Brunswick (current location on Brunswick St), the location of the post office had changed ten times, including this storefront. This was located across from the YMCA, on the left side of the building that was the Potomac Shop & Hotel.

Barry Is known as Berlin Station on the Baltimore & Ohio R.R., 15 miles from Frederick and 75 miles from Baltimore. The town is situated on the north bank of the Potomac River, and is connected with Virginia by Ferry. It has great advantages for trade, and does a large business in fertilizers, grain and coal. The merchant mills of Messrs. Jordan, Crompton & Co., who manufacture a superior brand of flour is located here. The land is good and sells at $35 to $70 per acre. Church and school house in the village, population about 300. W Wenner Luther Potterfiled Mrs. Mrry C Wenner (sp as in book)
