  • curprev 16:0216:02, 17 April 2022Pwenner talk contribs 561 bytes +561 Back in November 1940, the man on the right lost his bet that Wendell Willkie would defeat Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the presidential election of 1940. He fulfilled his obligation to push the winner (left) up and down Potomac Street, which was a dirt road on the east side. Not an easy task. Looks like the business on the right was called Dyer's, perhaps a dry cleaner.
