Melissa Alban: I recall shoveling mud out of my grandparents cabin in pt of rocks and how it took 6 of us to carry out the mud soaked mattresses after the water receedd. I was only 8 but I'll never forget driving down to see the river each day and the tremendous force and rage of the Potomac. Frightening and awesome at the same time.
