This photo is from 1996-1997 and shows the members of the BHS Golf Team.
The Railroaders improved with every match they competed in and with its first match of the season, the team defeated Urbana High School by a score of 227 to 202. Throughout the next seven matches, the team placed first in four outings. Throughout the season the golf team excelled in many aspects of the game. The team always played to their capacity and beyond.
In other matches the team defeated golfers from Catoctin, North Hagerstown, South Hagerstown, and Linganore High Schools.
As Coach Carol Smith commented – “It was a fun group and they all played as one. This was one team that supported each other in any way shape of form.”
Also, as Team MVP Ben Borden stated – “The team had a good season this year. A lot of our younger players pulled through and gave us the crucial points to win.”
