Summary

It was Halloween season at JJ Newberry's sometime in the mid-'70s. Spider Man costumes were trending then, too, thanks to Marvel comic books.

Mrs. Viola Kubat was one of the familiar friendly faces we baby boomers fondly remember greeting us at the Dime Store on West Potomac Street.

(From the Myer Kaplon Photo Collection at the Brunswick Community Library; Frederick County Public Libraries)

Patricia Nichols: What fond memories I have of growing up in Brunswick, her and Ms. Rosie Moss were everyday sights for me on Potomac street.

Joanna Feaster Henson: I worked there in 74 and 75! Loved all those ladies!
