Summary

October 3, 2020 was a beautiful autumn day for the unveiling of the sculpture by Parran Collery next to the Brunswick Train Station, part of the county-wide "Art on Main" program. Dr. Wayne Allgaier, Chair of the Brunswick Main Street Design Committee, welcomed VIPs and guests to the unveiling. Mayor Nathan Brown then welcomed the group, followed by John Feiseler, Chair of the Frederick County Tourism Council (aka VisitFrederick) who said a few words about art in Frederick County. Dr. Allgaier invited artist Parran Collery up to help unveil the sculpture and to say a few words. The sculpture is constructed of styrofoam, covered with fiber glass and cement in which are imbedded clay flowers designed and painted by 71 local children and adults. The sculpture weighs about 150 - 200 pounds, and will be on display for the next 12 months, possibly longer.
