According to Kim Myers, who contributed this gem: "My Grandmother, Mary Myers and a number of her friends played bridge. There were two tables. In the 50's among the ladies were Mrs. Elizabeth Barlow, Mrs. Ada Kirk, Mrs. Lovelace, and I can't recall the others right now. In those days, playing cards wasn't an accepted practice with many of the church groups.
My Grandmother was an active member in the Methodist Church. I can remember one day several of the ladies were over playing cards and the Methodist minister was headed down the sidewalk. The cards and card table went flying and by the time the knock came on the door everyone was proper. Wow, those were the days when life was so innocent."
