Mayor Stanley T. Virts (right) was Mayor of Brunswick from 1948-54 and previously served as Fire Chief and President of the Frederick County Fireman's Association in the 1930s and 40s. This photo may have been taken on the day in 1946 when the Women of The Moose were tapped to take over the town.

The lady is Virginia Anderson Cox, who was a highly active Moose woman and "honorary mayor" for a day.
