Candace Bloom Barnhouser: My sister and I walked to the bus stop there and our English hound would escort us. When we left he would wait by the door for a customer to walk in. He would push his shoulders in and wait looking at Paul Harrison. Paul would talk to him and then give him a big piece of leg bone. Our dog would take it home and enjoy. This was a frequent occurrence. I remember running around playing in our yard and tripping over these huge bones. I always thought about dead dinosaurs. Paul called our dog..Old Mournful...those "guys" loved each other.

Sharon Weddle Carey: New York Hill Market wow the memories. Was always there. After Donald Woods took it over, my mom worked there. Paul Harrison was one of a kind. Such a friend to the kids; never harsh; just such a nice man -- and Doris, his wife, was super also. Those were the days.

Paula M Harrison: I wasn't old enough to remember when Mom and Dad owned the store, as he passed away when I was an infant and Mom sold the store to Donald. I do have fond memories of it though and thenFrank and Gloria bought it and they really were nice people once you got past their gruff exterior. Some of my best childhood memories were made on New York Hill. Broke my heart when the building burned down.
