Summary

George Ernest Ambrose (1880-1941) Mr. Ambrose was an iconic personality in Brunswick due to the trademark Indian Motorcycle he's sitting on here.

After a stint as night watchman, he became a policeman in 1926 and rose to the title Chief of Police in 1937. Sadly, he only presided as Chief for 4 years. He moved through the ranks to Assistant Chief and from 1926-1941 was the sole operator of the police department motorcycle, which was purchased from Dutch Halley's dealership on Petersville Road.
