Summary

It was a sad day when the citizens of Brunswick received this letter informing the public that Roelke's Market was closing it's doors at 24 W. Potomac Street. The business was started in the location across from the old fire hall by Mr. Roelke's father Lloyd in the 1920s.

Ronnie Pearl: Roelke’s was a huge part of Brunswick I was little when mom used put harness on brother and myself walk down the street going to Roelke’s went there growing up even after getting married went There till closing every body there was like family hated to see closed just like five an dime.

Smoketown History (Brunswick, Md.) Meat cutter was Mr. Roelke’s brother-in-law, Bill Carter. Ruby Reed worked the cash register.

Vicki Pennington: Louise Reed was a longtime employee.
