Summary

The farmhouse in the distance was a home of farmer & miller Charles Fenton Wenner. It was occupied twice during the Civil War. The fields around the shopping center were full of hospital tents after a skirmish near the corner of Petersville & Souder Roads on the way to the Battle of South Mountain in 1862.

Since Thomas Myers bought the house in 1921, it's been the home to 4 generations of the Myers family.

This photo was taken from Bill & Eleanor Wenner's driveway across Souder Road in the late 1950s.
