Sonny Cannon (right) introduces the Eddie Watley Band from Warrenton, VA for a show at the old fire hall on West Potomac Street that is now the Smoketown Brewery.

In addition to his many talents as community leader, political boss, owner of the Imperial Theater and chief of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department from 1938-76, Sonny was an impresario who brought name musical acts to Brunswick to play at the theater, fire hall dances and carnivals. Using his sound truck, he provided sound for musicians and political candidates alike.
